Sissel in Drammen's Theater

A dream. Sissel Kyrkjebø and the Broadcast Orchestra are coming to Drammen's Theater in September for two very special concerts, which will be recorded and released on CD and DVD, but tickets will not be on sale until August. (Photo: Tore Sandberg) |
Just think! The country's most charming girl, whose voice many claim is made of pure gold, the Broadcast Orchestra and the main stage of the Drammen Theater.

You'll have to fight for your life to experience this fairytale up close and personal, when Sissel's big project has its premiere in Drammen on 3. and 4. September, but we'll all die eventually.
This is the biggest cultural event at the Drammen Theater since it was rebuilt. The concerts will be recorded both for CD and DVD, which will give both the theater and the city unbelievably positive advertising.
"Eddie, my husband was at the Drammen Theater last year, and when he heard that I was going to appear there, he just said: 'Get Excited!' I have heard so many great things about the theater that I am very excited. I think the combination of the symphony orchestra, the band, the theater and me will be very good. Great atmosphere and beautiful," said Sissel smiling.
That our country's Sissel is coming to Drammen for an event which she herself characterizes as a stunt is a great experience for Drammen.
Sissel has never before created a collection of her songs from her 15-year career, and has long dreamed of doing so with a symphony orchestra. And she says maybe she'll even sing something completely new, plus several songs she hasn't sung in years.
Will you have butterflies when you enter the stage on 3. September in Drammen?
"That depends on how the rehearsals go. For me this is a bit of a dream. I'm very excited. I think it'll be a bit like a horse anxiously waiting at the starting gate to gallop. I believe that," she smiles.
