Reaching Christmas Sales
Sissel Kyrkjebø's new album, «Nordisk vinternatt», is ready for record stores 14. November.
This new album consists of newly composed material, and some Nordic classics in new recordings. The split between new songs and cover songs from other artists is about 50/50. All of the songs are in Nordic languages.
NORDIC
Sissel earlier did a new recording of «Du är den ende», which Lill Lindfors made famous in her time.
Just because Sissel is focusing on the Nordic market with this new album doesn't mean she has forgotten the foreign markets.
In addition to this album, she has recorded a completely separate album for the English market, which will be released in the new year.
For the time being, it appears that there will only be one large concert in connection with the album release. This will take place in the Oslo Spektrum on 3. December.
"The concert is about to sell out very quickly, but it is doubtful that there will be time for extra concerts," said her manager Arne Svare.
BUSY YEAR
Recording of the new album «Nordisk vinternatt» has taken place in Oslo over the course of the whole year, inbetween «Ringens herre»-tours, and Plácido Domingo-concerts, which has made 2005 a busy year for Sissel.
The last Sissel album was the symphonic «My Heart» in 2003.
