Sissel, known for her traditional Christmas concerts, continues the holiday spirit on the album, "Christmas In Rome" by Paddy Moloney of the Chieftains.

The album opens with Sissel singing "Glade Jul" (Silent Night) á capella. Sissel's opening vocals, which are always stunning, set the tone for the rest of the album.

The next contribution by Sissel is track five, a live recording of "Mitt Hjerte Alltid Vanker" from one of Sissel's Christmas concerts in Gjøvik, Norway.

Sissel's final contribution is on "Silent Night" (track 12), which includes a multitude of people singing "Silent Night" in at least five languages, but it's hard to hear Sissel on this track as she leads the others in the final verse.

Much of this album was recorded at the Vatican with the Vatican Orchestra and includes performances by Máire Brennan, the Harlem Gospel Choir, Zucchero, and numerous other choirs and soloists.

This is the sixth Christmas album on which Sissel appears, the third Chieftains-related album to feature Sissel and was originally scheduled for release in 1998, but was postponed until Christmas 1999.
